Tech-Aid Institute

Tech-Aid is an award winning company, focused on developing and promoting technology-based learning tools for people with intellectual and other cognitive disabilities. Our scientifically based computer programs have been proven to be effective instructional environments.

In the interest of public health, Tech-Aid is creating behavioral health and wellness programs in the areas of abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention for men and for women, preventing respiratory illness, emergency and disaster preparedness, sex and sexuality for women and communication in intimate relationships for women. Tech-Aid is focused on helping people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities live full and healthy lives in the community.

We specialize in the development of interactive multi-media software programs designed to challenge and positively affect the life experience of people with intellectual and other cognitive disabilities. Our program "Live Smart Live Safe®: Preventing HIV/AIDS for Men with Intellectual Disability" has been awarded the 2012 Communicator Award of Excellence in the Interactivity category - Special Interest, the 2012 Communicator Award of Distinction in the Interactivity category - Health & Wellness, and the Bronze Telly Award in the Multimedia category.
Our program "Live Smart Live Safe®: Emergency and Disaster Preparedness for People with Intellectual and Other Cognitive Disabilities" has been awarded the 2013 Communicator Award of Distinction in the Interactivity category - Special Interest and the Bronze Telly Award in the Multimedia and How-To/Instructional categories.
Our program "Live Smart Live Safe®: Reducing Abuse in the Lives of People with Intellectual and Other Cognitive Disabilities" has been awarded the 2014 Silver Communicator Award of Distinction in the Interactivity category - Special Interest.
Our program "Live Smart Live Safe®: Preventing Respiratory Illness" has been awarded three 2009 Bronze Telly awards in the categories of Health and Wellness, Use of Graphics, and Multimedia.
